5 arrested for drunken driving



18 November, Kathmandu. The police have taken permission from the court to detain five drunken drivers for five days.

On Saturday, 5 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol from 8 Seshamati bridge in Tarakeshwar municipality of Kathmandu. Police department Balaju interrogated him after taking permission from the district court for 5 days.

A joint team of Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office Ramshahpath, Narcotics Control Bureau Koteshwar and Nepal Police Hospital Maharajganj arrested 5 drivers while checking vehicles on the road at Sheshmati bridge.

Awadhesh Bisht Khetri, co-spokesperson of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office and Superintendent of Police, told that he was driving under the influence of alcohol.
