50 percent votes cast in 10 polling stations of Dolakha



15 November, Kathmandu. A loss of 50 per cent votes was recorded in the re-polling for the members of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly today at 10 polling stations in Dolakha.

According to Chief Electoral Officer Diliratna Shrestha, 50 percent votes were cast and the election was conducted peacefully.

At present, an all-party meeting is being held regarding the time at which the counting of votes should be started. There are 8,514 voters in the four booths of that polling station.

A, B and C of Vaiteshwar Secondary School polling station, Ward No. 2, Ward No. 3 of Kalidhunga Secondary School, A and B of Janjyoti Secondary School Putlikath polling station located in Ward No. 6 of Vaiteshwar Rural Municipality of the district. Polling Stations A, B and C. Voting took place at Tamakoshi Rural Municipality Ward No. 3 Swasthya Chowki Bhawan, Polling Stations A, B and C.

After a dispute arose in the polling held on November 4 in that polling station, the Election Commission had on November 11 directed the concerned returning officer’s office to cancel the polling and re-poll.

There were a total of 94 polling stations and 195 polling stations in Dolakha, which is a constituency in the House of Representatives. There are 21 candidates of 14 political parties and seven independents in this area with a total of 161 thousand 450 voters.
