September 28, Surkhet. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Midwestern University and Chandigarh University of India for the second time with the aim of promoting academic cooperation and bilateral relations.
The MoU was signed on Tuesday in Punjab, India by Prof. Dr. Nanda Bahadur Singh, Vice Chancellor, Midwestern University and Prof. Dr. RS Bawa, Vice Chancellor, Chandigarh University.
The MoU will be valid for five years from the date of signing of the MoU. Midwestern University’s administration officer Dinesh Gautam said the agreement was first signed in 2016 and was renewed after the agreement expired.
As per the agreement, both the universities will promote academic excellence, faculty and student exchange, research collaboration, quality education, positive environment, transformational initiatives, cultural and contextual development model expansion as well as bilateral relations.
According to Dinesh Gautam, an administrative official, the previous agreement did not include exchange of visits between students and professors and understanding the educational programs of each other’s colleges. “Not everything in the previous agreement was effective,” he said. Now after this agreement, it is believed that things can be done under the MoU.
Senior officials and professors from both the universities participated in the signing ceremony.
