Our mind cannot remember everything. So we forget how much we have seen, heard and experienced. We do not remember many things from the past. All that is forgotten from our mind.
Even not very old things, even months, weeks or even days ago, we cannot remember properly. However, this does not make much difference in our daily life. It makes a difference when we forget even for a moment.
What if we forget what we are doing? What if we lost our way while walking? What if we forget the person who was recognized earlier? What if we forget to do some important work?
Everyday life is chaos.
Dementia is one such problem, colloquially known as ‘forgetting disease’. The problem is so complex, they even forget their daily work. They may also forget to eat, urinate, and wash.
What is dementia?
There are mainly two types of dementia, reversible and irreversible. Why the patient in Reversible? By knowing the causes of forgetfulness, the disease can be cured. In irreversible dementia, the problem of forgetfulness also increases with time. It cannot cure the patient. Reversible is for adults and irreversible is for people over the age of 65. Alzheimer’s, frontotemporal, vascular dementia.
who do you think?
Dementia mostly occurs in people aged 65 to 70 years. It can happen to adults too. Adults also get dementia due to lifestyle, family environment and stress. In addition, the disease is more common in poor and middle-income countries.
What do you think?
Brain cells become inactive when a protein named mylog accumulates in the brain. Which leads to dementia. Vitamin D-12 deficiency, folic acid deficiency, thyroid problem, brain infection, stress, anxiety, depression cause dementia. Similarly, smoking, drinking alcohol, drying of the veins of the brain and swelling in normal pressure hydrocephalus (a place in the brain where water flows) also cause this problem.
Symptoms of dementia appear in three stages – mild, moderate and severe.
First state mind: forgetting where you have kept the things you have kept. In this, the patient is controlled with medicine.
2nd Stage Moderate: In this stage a little tricky problem starts to emerge. Forgetting the way home, forgetting the name of the place and not recognizing family members. In this, two types of experiments help in reducing the capacity to forget to some extent.
The third stage begins: In this stage complex problems begin to appear. The patient cannot speak, cannot understand what is being said, forgets to eat, forgets to cook and forgets to chew food in the mouth. In this, rest is given by keeping the patient in a care home or by teaching the doctor how to take care of the patient.
its complexity
In the beginning of dementia you forget where you put your things, you forget to eat, you forget what you are going to do. Gradually, they start showing complex problems such as forgetting their home, separation from family members and forgetting to chew while eating. You can’t even speak, don’t even understand what they say. There is also a risk of pneumonia and death from contaminated food.
What to do after dementia?
When people are told they have dementia they are scared. But dementia is treated in two ways, medication and care.
If an adult patient has dementia, it can be cured with medicine after finding out its cause. This is reversible dementia. But dementia is not curable for the elderly. This can reduce the ability to forget to take care of the patient only by taking the medicine and the doctor’s advice. There is no cure, it is irreversible dementia. In this, the patient should be taken care of like a child.
Can medicine cure it?
If it is reversible dementia, then it can be cured with medicine by finding out its cause. Which is seen in about 20 percent of patients. Irreversible dementia cannot be cured, it can only be controlled. It increases with age. This problem occurs in 80 percent of such patients.
What to do to avoid dementia?
Having dementia doesn’t mean you won’t get the disease. It can only be controlled. With increasing age, this problem is seen more in some people. To reduce them, you should pay attention to these things. Dementia can be avoided by eating healthy food, exercising regularly, controlling litter, not smoking, not drinking alcohol, staying away from stress and doing constructive work.
