9 January, Kathmandu. Arsenal recorded a thrilling 3–2 win over Manchester United in the Premier League after a last-minute goal by Edward Nketih. Earlier, both the teams could not maintain the lead and the match headed towards a draw. But in the 90th minute, Nketih scored on a pass from captain Martin Odegaard to give Arsenal the three points.
Eketih scored two goals and Bukayo Saka scored one.
United led the game. In the 17th minute, Marcus Rashford took the lead after completing Bruno Fernandez’s pass. But in the 24th minute Neketih returned the equalizer for Arsenal from Grint Xhaka’s pass.
Arsenal took the lead in the second half. Saka scored in the 53rd minute to give Arsenal a 2–1 lead. But in the 59th minute, Lisandro Martinez equalized for United and the game turned into a thriller. In this situation, Nketih became the hero and scored his second individual goal in the last minute, winning Arsenal.
Arsenal, who have been in excellent form this season, have collected 50 points from 19 matches in just over half the league. Second-placed City are 5 points ahead of Arsenal. Defeated United are fourth with 39 points from 20 matches.
Prior to the Arsenal game, City beat Wolves 3–0 thanks to a hat-trick from Arleen Haaland, which cut the gap to 2 points. But after Arsenal beat United, the gap was again reduced to 5 points.
Hollande scored in the 40th, 50th and 54th minutes to give City a home win. This is his fourth hat-trick in the Premier League. He has scored 25 goals this season and is the top scorer.
