Case against Bhuvan KC on 'Do Not Watch List', Paul Shah to appear on October 26

Kathmandu. The petition filed in the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the appointment of Film Development Board chairman Bhuvan KC could not be heard on Friday.

The Supreme Court has put the matter on the list of not to be referred for consideration. The matter came up before a joint bench of Justice Prakashman Singh Raut and Justice Sushmalatha Mathema on Friday. Law practitioner Surya Bahadur Pandey on behalf of the petitioner said that the date of the new hearing will be announced by evening. He said that there is a possibility that the next hearing could be held after Dashain.

Naresh Kumar Paudyal along with five candidates for the chairmanship filed a writ petition against Prime Minister’s Office and Council of Ministers, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Film Development Board and Bhuvan KC on 30 July. They have raised questions on the educational qualification of Bhuvan KC.

The hearing of Bhuvan’s case is progressing after the court’s order to extract the entire file with the allegation of interim order.

The petitioners claim that the ministry has lowered the standards to appoint Bhuvan as the chairman of the board. The petitioner has also sought to maintain the system of passing the graduation level to become the President.

Meanwhile, the presence of actor Paul (Poornavikram Shah) who is in Tanahun district jail on rape charges is reported by his lawyer Kamala Mohan Wagle.
