8 November, Baitri. Damodar Bhandari of CPN-UML has won the House of Representatives for the third consecutive time in Baitri.
Bhandari won by defeating Narendra Bahadur Kunwar of the Maoist Centre, the common candidate of the ruling coalition.
Bhandari got 33 thousand 611 votes while his nearest rival Kunwar from Maoist center got 32 thousand 80 votes. Bhandari is trailing behind Kunwar by 1531 votes for the third time in a row.
He had previously won the second Constituent Assembly election in 2070 and 2074.
Damodar Bhandari, involved in politics since his student days, remained stuck in the UML. Born in Patan Municipality 6, Bhandari started his political career in 2047 from Anersavayu.
He has the experience of handling the responsibility of the Minister of State for Finance once. He is currently holding the charge of the State Committee President of UML.
