Dashain is not enthusiastic even on the e-commerce site

October 10, Kathmandu. The business of e-commerce sites has also been sluggish during the decade this year. A large number of customers have not yet been seen in the markets and shops. While shopkeepers are disappointed, online shopping sites have also said that business is not the same.

Sagardev Bhatt, coordinator of the Common Forum of E-commerce Sites, says that although there has been some increase in business after the tenth, but the business is not as enthusiastic as before. ‘Prices have gone up, there is a shortage of some goods,’ he says. Their experience is that this year consumers also do not have the capacity to spend much.

According to Bhatt, online shopping is very easy during Dashain. He claims that online has eased the lifestyle of many customers by saying that it is not easy to go to crowded shops and pick up goods.

However, online shopping saves time and frees you from visiting shops in the market. However, the lack of investible capital seen in the banking sector, rising inflation rates and declining purchasing power of consumers have reduced the attractiveness of consumers in the online market as well.

Sandesh Pudasaini, who was shopping online for this decade, bought only children’s clothes. According to him, the next day in the evening, after choosing clothes at leisure, the clothes reached home. He said that he and his wife have decided not to buy new clothes this year. ‘I don’t even have much money left for Dussehra expenses, I didn’t want to go to the market,’ he said, adding, ‘I chose the best clothes according to my budget and bought them online, children are also happy. ,

As much as possible, he gets the goods of his need and choice from the e-commerce site. He also plans to buy grocery salmon online for Dashain. “I’m used to it. My wife doesn’t trust online shopping,” he says.

Be aware

Not everyone’s online shopping experience is as ‘pleasant’ as Pudasaini’s. Many shopping sites in the market have their own styles and features. Some shopping sites have average service and some are very unresponsive. Some sites are also very sensitive about customer satisfaction.

The online shopping experience of Baneshwar’s Srishti Mathema has never been so pleasant. Sometimes she gets frustrated due to non-availability of goods as expected, and sometimes she becomes a victim due to late delivery. According to him, online shopping is generally easier but less reliable.

Buying goods from most established shopping sites in Nepal isn’t much of a problem, but people who buy goods based on ads and posts on social media, including Facebook, are more likely to be duped.

Merchants say that it is easy to choose and order goods online, but those who do not know how to find the right products face problems.

Sushmit Kalakheti of Baneshwar, who is doing business online, says that there is a lot of confusion about online shopping. He says, “Online shopping will save both money and time if customers take some precautions.

There are hundreds of products from hundreds of brands online, but it is not easy for customers to decide which one best suits their budget and needs. Nepalese consumers do not have the habit of choosing reliable websites while buying goods, looking at the feedback and ratings given by people who have already bought the goods and sellers. Kalakheti says that this is the reason why consumers face harassment in online shopping.

The online site has various features to inform the customers about the quality. Merchants say that they will not complain while shopping after seeing it. Since various sellers are allowed to sell goods on the online site, the site itself does not guarantee this.

“If consumers are aware, those selling cheap goods online will automatically be discouraged,” he says. I have asked people who inquire about the quality of the product to look at the reviews given by others. ,

As technology is making people’s lives easier, online shopping sites are helping to save the time of going to the market for shopping. The hassle of walking from shop to shop has also been removed.

The situation has become such that most of the goods available in the market reach the doorstep when ordered from a palm sized mobile phone. Many customers are also attracted towards it because they do not have to go to crowded places to buy the things they need. From milk-curd, vegetables and groceries to ready-made foods, you can buy them online. From medicine, utensils to clothes, online orders come at Dailo.

Shopping sites ranging from social networks to websites are not all providing the same service. Seeing good future, world class companies like Alibaba, Snapdeal etc are investing in Nepal online market and providing services in Nepal.

There is no difficulty in making cash payments in such transactions. It is also possible to pay money online. It is changing the practice of bargaining by going to the market. The experience of those ordering from what appears online is also different.

Some people do not consider online shopping to be reliable, while others consider it easier and more reliable than the physical market. In recent years, customers have started shopping online because shopping is easier.

According to Bhatt, coordinator of the Common Forum of E-Commerce Sites, some shopping sites are also offering various attractive offers to sell their products during the festival. Customers complain that in the greed of offers, they have to buy substandard and expired materials.

According to him, recently there have been some distortions in the online market due to people selling goods by advertising on social media and starting online business without any plan. There is also a risk that some online sellers will spoil the customer’s first online shopping experience, and trust in e-commerce will be questioned. This is affecting those established shopping sites which are increasing the number of customers.

The content that is put up for sale online is placed in an attractive manner. The actual color of some materials and the color shown in the photo is different. Actual color and quality may be different when ordering goods depending on the color and texture shown in the photo. Buyers complain that online shopping is prone to material changes, some content is broken.

Some shopping sites are also offering different types of attractive offers to sell their goods. There are complaints that when you buy material under the lure of offers, you get substandard and expired material. When attempting to return such material, online shopping sites refuse to return or base their terms on it. They say that even if done according to the conditions, it will be returned or replaced later.

Some online shopping sites have become a source of fraud due to being run without registration. It has been a long time since the government did its homework to enact a separate law to regulate the online market as the problem became more visible. The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies has prepared a draft bill to legalize such businesses which are outside the purview of regulation.

In the proposed draft, there is a provision in online business where the customer can return the desired item if it is not delivered. In addition, if the product breaks down or is not repaired, as observed by the customer on the electronic platform, the product will be returned or exchanged and payment will be refunded.

The draft bill states that the businesses which were running before the enactment of the law should be registered within one year and with the department specified by the new business law, and the website and business should be done through a secure medium. electronic system. It has been mentioned in the draft that doing electronic business through online medium without registration will be considered as an offense and the matter will be heard through the district court.

However, since the government has not enacted any law to regulate online shopping, distortions are on the rise in this sector. Bhatt says, ‘Online business through social media has brought more problems, the government should make policies and rules keeping this in mind.’
