EC told Toshima: Don’t ring the bell, it causes noise pollution

23 October, Kathmandu. The Election Commission has asked the candidate of Lalitpur-3 not to advertise the election by ringing the bell. Tosima Karki has been instructed.

While giving this direction, the commission said that it disturbs others while walking by ringing the bell.

During election campaigning and door-to-door campaigning, the candidates of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party used to ring the bell of their party’s symbol.

In the all-party meeting held in the Election Commission on Tuesday, representatives of some parties pointed out that the National Swatantra Party candidates were ringing bells for campaigning and violating the model code of conduct.

Ganesh Karki of the National Independent Party said that the commission did not give any decision or direction at that time, but later directed not to ring the bell. He said, ‘We have been instructed by the commission not to roam around by ringing the bell.

The Election Commission has claimed that no instructions have been sent in this regard. Guruprasad Wagle, assistant spokesperson of the Election Commission, said, “A few weeks ago, an explanation was sought from him in this regard.”
