Expelled leader Ojha refuses to meet Deuba in Kailali

May 27 Dhangarh. In the Dhangarhi sub-metropolitan city, the Nepali Congress nominated outgoing mayor Nrip Bahadur Wad as its candidate for mayor this time too. This time in Dhangarhi, Congress candidate Wadlai is with ruling coalition parties including CPN-Maoist Center and CPN-Unified Socialist Party.

Wade, who was elected mayor after contesting a by-election in the last election, has not been sure of victory this time despite being with the Maoist Center and the Unified Socialists due to internal strife within the party.

The Congress fears that the Krishna Bahadur Mahara faction, dissatisfied with the action against leader Pushkar Nath Ojha, light bombs at district conventions and distribution of tickets, will not support Wad in local elections.

Due to this fear, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is also the party president, is also active in resolving internal disputes in Dhangarhi, the constituency of Arju Rana’s wife.

Deuba, who arrived in Dhangarhi on Sunday evening to address an election rally organized by the ruling coalition, held separate discussions with leaders of different levels in Kailali to resolve the party’s problems.

Accordingly, Deuba also tried to meet former state minister and then general committee member Pushkar Nath Ojha, who was expelled from the party for five years. But Ojha has rejected the offer to meet Deuba outright.

At such a time, internal problems should not escalate within the party. Sher Bahadur Dai called to meet him (Pushkar Nath Ojha) that all friends should be taken together,’ a Congress leader told news online,’ but he replied that he did not meet anyone before April 12 Will meet.’

Deuba had sent two persons to his house with the intention of announcing the end of the proceedings by including Pushkar Nath Ojha in the election rally held at Dhangarhi and sent a message that there was no problem within the party. The leaders, however, tried to persuade Ojha for about an hour, but were unsuccessful, Congress sources said.

Ojha was also in the race for ticket in the 2074 CA election but was dissatisfied after party president Deuba neglected him and gave ticket to his wife Arju. But Arzoo lost the election to Narad Muni Rana of CPN-UML.

The Congress expelled Ojha from the party for five years on the grounds that he had played a role in defeating Arju by not cooperating in the elections.

Nepali Congress (NC) leaders say they are trying to persuade Ojha for fear of not winning the election despite forming an alliance in Dhangarhi sub-metropolitan without Ojha’s support.
