History made in the final of Nepal clean championship

27 September, Kathmandu. Nepal has entered the final of the SAAF Championship Football for the first time. Nepal created history after a 1-1 draw with Bangladesh in their group stage final match in Maldives on Wednesday.

Nepal never reached the finals of the SAAF Championship Football that began in 1993. Nepal, who finished third in the first edition, had made it to the semi-finals in the 2018 BS.

Nepal scored in the ninth minute of the match at the National Stadium in Male. Suman Raza gave Bangladesh an early lead with the help of a corner kick. In the first half, Nepal tried to score but failed. Bangladesh played some defensive games in the second half.

It was the 82nd turning point of the game. Bangladeshi goalkeeper Zico got a red card after rewarding a Nepalese player in One vs One. Bangladesh, who were reduced to 10 players, came under pressure and went to fight Anjan Bista in the box area. Nepal got a penalty, in which Anjan scored an easy goal.

Nepal reached the final with 7 points after a draw while Bangladesh are out of the group stage. Now Nepal will face either India and Maldives for the title.

The group stage final match between the two teams will be played on Wednesday. If Maldives has to draw in the final, then India will have to win.
