I want a solution to the problems of Parliament and Supreme Court: Speaker Sapkota

16 December, Kathmandu. Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has said that he will find a solution to the problems seen in the impasse in Parliament and in the Supreme Court.

Speaker Sapkota, who returned home from Spain on Thursday morning, said this in a press conference held at Tribhuvan International Airport.

Stating that he had general knowledge of national politics even while in Spain, he said that he would now find a solution to the problem.

When asked about the standoff between the apex court and Parliament, he said, “I have come here to think about how to take the initiative and go ahead with this idea.” Now I’m thinking.

“I will look into the all-party meeting and other meetings to find a solution,” he added.

Speaker Sapkota went to Madrid, Spain on 26 November to attend the 143rd Conference of the Inter-Legislative Association (IPU). Speaker Sapkota had addressed the conference on 25 December.

The Nepali parliamentary delegation included Speaker Sapkota, members of the House of Representatives Dev Prasad Gurung, Lakshmi Kumari Choudhury and members of the National Assembly Pramila Kumari and Agam Prasad Vantava Rai. In the same delegation, Secretary General of the Federal Parliament Dr. Bharatraj Gautam, Secretary of the House of Representatives Gopalnath Yogi, Chief Private Secretary to the Speaker Arjun K.C. and computer officer Suresh Raj Sedhai.
