June 1, Kathmandu. Liverpool won the FA Cup by defeating Chelsea in a penalty shootout.
Konstantino Simikas scored in the final penalty to secure Liverpool’s title and chances of winning all four titles in a single season.
Earlier, Liverpool goalkeeper Alison Baker took a penalty kick from Chelsea’s Mason Mount.
Liverpool have already won the League Cup after beating Chelsea in a penalty shootout in February. Liverpool will now face Real Madrid in the final of the Champions League on 29 May.
Liverpool have two games left in the Premier League and are three points behind leaders Manchester City.
The game was decided by a penalty shootout after Saturday night’s draw at Wembley ended in a goalless draw after 90 minutes and 30 minutes of extra time.
Liverpool’s James Milner, Thiago Alcantara, Roberto Firminho, Trent Alexander Arnold, Diego Jota and Constantino Simicus scored on penalties. Sadia said it was a mistake.
Only Chelsea’s Marcus Alonso, James Reese, Ross Barkley, Jorhinho and Hakim GH scored. Cesar Azpilicueta and Mason Mount failed to score on penalties.
Liverpool have won the League Cup and FA Cup in the same season for the first time since 2001. Liverpool have won the FA Cup for the eighth time. Arsenal have won 12 FA Cups 14 more times than Liverpool and Manchester United.
