Martyrs belong to the country, not the caste: UML President Olick

7th July, Kathmandu. CPN (UML) president KP Sharma Oli has said that the martyrs should not be discriminated against.

Speaking at a program organized on the occasion of 44th Memorial Day of Pushplal Shrestha, President Oli said that whoever was killed first should be considered as a martyr first, not on the basis of caste.

‘I request the historian. Martyrdom is not a racial issue but a national movement issue. Don’t make a caste martyr. He said, “The first martyr is the first martyr, not the caste, but the nation.”

He says that when you make sacrifices for change, no matter which party you belong to, you will become a national martyr.

At the same time, President Oli claimed that Pushplal liberated Nepal from dictators and removed superstition along with political awareness.

Referring that Pushpala showed the reality of Nepal through legends, Oli said that even now history should be brought into reality through legends.

He said that history should be brought back to reality, adding that even now the king’s stories are being heard.
