NEA executive director Kulman Ghising said that the power supply line has been cut after the substation submerged.

“The power supply line has been cut after the substation was submerged due to floods. This has led to a blackout in the districts of province No. 1,” he said. “There has been a flood in the control room of the substation. It is seen that if this happens, the power supply to the area may be stalled for a few days. Now our team is working to drain the water inside the substation and bring electricity to the consumers as soon as possible. is trying.

Ghising said that the local government, administration, Nepal Army, Nepal Police and others have been requested to provide necessary assistance to drain the water from the substation.

He said that the Kabeli Corridor 132 kV transmission line was also closed when both the substations were closed. Due to this, the power generation of about 170 MW hydroelectric projects connected with Kabeli Corridor has also come to a standstill.

Attaria-Chamelia 132 kV transmission line and other 33 and 11 kV lines have been damaged due to rain due to falling of trees at different places. As a result, power generation of 30 MW Chamelia and other hydroelectric projects in Darchula has been stopped. Power supply has also been cut in hilly districts including Dadeldhura, Baitadi, Bajahang and Achham in the far west.
