5 October, Kathmandu. Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo has said that he wants to continue playing for the country even after the 2022 World Cup.
He said that after this year’s World Cup in Qatar, he also aims to play in the 2024 Euro Cup.
‘It’s been a long journey, but I want to take this opportunity to say that my path is not over yet. I feel inspired, my ambitions are high. I am in the team with a lot of young players and I want to be a part of this World Cup and the 2024 European tournament as well. ,
The 37-year-old legend’s statement comes at a time when there is talk that the World Cup to be held in Qatar in November-December could be the last international tournament.
The Qatar World Cup will be Ronaldo’s 10th international tournament.
Ronaldo played 189 matches for Portugal and scored 117 goals. He also holds the record for most goals scored for the country in international football. There is a possibility that Ronaldo will increase the number of goals in the matches against the Czech Republic and Spain under the UEFA Nations League.
Ronaldo’s eye is also on playing more matches for the country. So far Badr Al Motwa has played the most matches in Kuwait at 196, according to FIFA recognized matches.
According to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), Malaysia’s Soh Chin On has played 219 matches. According to FIFA, he has played only 195 official matches.
