Rumors of early elections only: Prachanda

Talking to reporters at Janakpur airport, Prachanda said that the present House of Representatives will function for the full term. “Rumours of early elections are still spreading, but no, the coalition government will remain in power for the entire term,” he said.

Prachanda also said that the opposition party has unnecessarily obstructed the Parliament against the spirit and letter of the Constitution.

He said opposition parties have been obstructing Parliament for a long time against the spirit and letter of the Constitution. Prachanda said, “We are preparing to take forward important bills including the Citizenship Bill through ordinances as well.

Stating that he wants to pass the Citizenship Bill on the basis of national consensus, he said, “We want to go for Citizenship Bill with national consent, even if it is by national ordinance.”

Prachanda also said that the coalition parties are yet to reach a consensus on the problems being faced by the judiciary in the country. Prachanda said that now there is a coalition government and there is no problem in the alliance, Prachanda said that everything is going well.

Speaker Prachanda also said that it was too late to build a consensus as the coalition leaders were out of Kathmandu.
