Samyukta Samajwadi Party’s Lamsal won the state assembly from Kavre by a margin of 188 votes.



8 November, Kathmandu. Kavre Pratinidhi Sabha Constituency No. 2 State Assembly (1) has been won by LAXMAN LAMSAL of Samyukta Samajwadi Party. He defeated Kumar Khakurel of CPN-UML by a very narrow margin (188 votes).

While Lamsal, the shared candidate of the ruling coalition, got 19,408 votes, UML’s Khakurel got 19,220 votes.

Who is Laxman Lamsal?

Laxman Lamsal is a leader emerging from student politics. He is a resident of Mandandepur Municipality-7. He became a member of ANERASWVIU in 2047 and was elected Central Vice President from the 20th National Convention. In the 21st National Convention, he was defeated by Navina Lama of Kavre for the post of President.

He was also the secretary of the Central Agriculture Department of the CPN-UML and was elected to the provincial assembly from the leftist coalition in the 2074 election. After the split of the CPN, he is currently in the CPN Unified Socialist Party.
