October 3, Pokhara. A half-length statue will be erected at the Pokhara Stadium in the memory of Paragliding player Niseem Thapa, who died in a glider accident during the Ninth National Games.
Rakhep member secretary Tanklal Ghising said that in the 115th board meeting of the National Sports Council (Rakhep) held on Wednesday evening, it was decided to install a statue in honor of the players who lost their lives during the game.
According to him, apart from the insurance amount, it has also been decided to recommend to the Council of Ministers to give relief to the deceased players. In the National Games, every player has a life insurance of 10 lakhs.
On October 30, while competing in the cross country category of paragliding, title contender Nisim, playing for Nepal Army Club, died in an accident in Sarangkot.
