Tension in Humla’s Sarkegarh, assistant polling officer and army officer injured

4 November, Humla. Ward no. of Humla Rural Municipality. 3 Two people, including an assistant polling officer and an army officer, were injured in the clash at Devkota Basic School Unapani polling station.

The injured included Assistant Polling Officer Prem Bhandari and Nepali Army constable Arjun Uparkoti. He has head injuries. Police fired 17 rounds in the air to control the situation. Police said that polling has been suspended since 9.30 am and the ballot box is secure.

At 8:30 in the morning, there was a clash between the workers of ruling coalition candidate Karchen Lama and independent candidate Mangal Bahadur Shahi over the dispute over Vareshnama. During this, Assistant Polling Officer Bhandari got hurt on his head.

After that, in the replacement meeting, it was agreed to start the polling again. But tension flared up again when over a dozen people pelted stones outside the polling station. Then Police Station President Pushparaj Roke fired one round from pistol and not three from rifle, but 8 rounds from three rounds.
