8 November, Kathmandu. Kathmandu Badminton Academy is organizing Kathmandu Team Championship 2021 from 22nd January to 23rd January.
Eight corporate houses will field top male and one female player for the championship sponsored by Kumari Bank. The players will be included in the corporate house on the basis of lottery, this information was given in the press conference held on Wednesday.
An amount of 20 thousand will be provided to the players as soon as they register in the championship to be held at a cost of about Rs 49.46 crore. An additional 25 hundred will be awarded for each game. Organizing Academy’s general secretary, Nepal Badminton Association member and international umpire Deepak Thapa said that even if a player is eliminated from the group stage, he will get Rs 35,000.
The winner of the winning team will get Rs 75,000, the runner-up Rs 60,000, the third Rs 55,000 and the fourth Rs 47,500.
Men’s singles (out of top 8 ranked players), Women’s singles (out of top 8 ranked players), Corporate doubles (individuals or players who have worked in a corporate house for at least 2 years), Men’s doubles (top players and corporate person) or sportsperson), women’s doubles. Top players and corporate individuals or sportspersons) will compete in five events. The team winning 3 out of 5 events will win the game.
