Urged India not to build physical infrastructure in the border area so that Nepalese territory gets submerged

31 June, Kathmandu. Nepal has urged the Indian government not to build physical infrastructure in the border area so that Nepalese territory gets submerged.

According to Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka, Nepal has made such a request to India.

Responding to the questions raised by the MPs regarding the budget allocated for the Ministry of External Affairs, he also urged to stop the construction of the physical infrastructure that is being built without understanding with Nepal.

Minister Khadka said, “It is requested not to construct one-way physical structures that will submerge Nepalese territory and stop the work without prior consent, which is against the norms.”

The lawmakers had questioned the submergence of Nepalese territory every year due to unilateral construction by the Indian side in the border area.

In response, Minister Khadka requested to stop the activities without prior consent.
