11 January, Surkhet. Karnali’s Chief Minister Rajkumar Sharma has appointed Dolpa’s Urmila Beek as the Minister of State. To make the Provincial Council of Ministers inclusive, he made BC of the CPN-Maoist Center the Minister of State.

Bik, who became MP from Dolpa by proportional arrangement, has been made the Minister of State for Physical Infrastructure, Energy and Water Resources. After the participation of Dalits and women in the state government was reduced to zero, Bik was finally appointed as Minister of State after other ministers were sworn in.

All the ministers are men and belong to the exclusive Arya community. Minister of State Bick has also taken the oath of office and secrecy. Chief Minister Rajkumar Sharma administered him the oath of office and secrecy.

Earlier, the 8-member Council of Ministers was reduced to 7. Although one ministry has been reduced, it has again been reduced to eight members by adding a minister of state.
