14 Chait, Kathmandu. The home team Viratnagar FC has entered the finals of the Virat Gold Cup Football.
In the first semi-final held on Monday night, Viratnagar qualified for the final by defeating Jwalakhel Youth Club 2-1.
In a very competitive match, Mesuko Olmo took the lead in the 59th minute. When Jwalakhel goalkeeper Anees Deula tried to clear a shot by Bimal Ghartimagar, Mesuke broke Biratganer’s goal drought by hitting the net.
In the 57th minute, Yusuf Thaplia’s shot went wide after hitting the post. Samiraj Thokar’s header in the 86th minute also went in vain. Jwalakhel tried to score continuously, but could not succeed.
Abhishek Gurung scored the second goal for Viratnagar in the 87th minute. Abhishek, who replaced Biratnagar’s Olao Afiz, scored a brilliant finish from the top corner.
Five minutes added. Yusuf Thapliya scored for Javalkhel in the third minute of extra time. Even after this Javalkhel kept on making pressure but could not succeed.
As part of the tournament, defending champions APF and Luka Soccer Club of Kerala will meet on Tuesday.
The title winning team will get Rs 20 lakh 15 thousand while the runner up team will get Rs 10 lakh 25 thousand.
Similarly, best players and coaches will be given Rs 25,000 in cash.
