Waterlogging in Birendranagar, an appeal to the administration to be alert



October 21, Surkhet. Virendranagar valley has been submerged due to continuous rain for three days.

The flow of water has intensified in the Khare rivers in the valley. Local citizens have started building houses for safer places as the lower part of the valley is inundated with water.

Rivers like Newarkhola, Itramkhola, Juprakhola and Chinchkhola of Bheriganga are flowing in the Birendranagar valley. And, the local administration has appealed to the local residents near those rivers to be cautious.

Chief District Officer Khagendra Prasad Rizal told that people have been asked to remain alert in view of the increasing threat of floods and landslides in the valley.

‘The exit area of ​​the valley is a bit more at risk, we are out to monitor and protect that area. So far, there has been no human loss,’ Prajiya Rizal said.
